Bob Clement for Mayor campaign names lawyer as 'senior strategist'

Today, Mayoral candidate Bob Clement named attorney Gary Blackburn as the "Senior Strategist and lead legal counsel" in his campaign for Mayor.

Blackburn is the senior partner at the law firm of Blackburn and McCune and a former Assistant U.S. Attorney here in middle Tennessee. He has also done legal commentary for NewsChannel 5 TV and WSMV-TV Channel 4.

According to a statement issued by Clement campaign spokesman Ben Hall, Blackburn will oversee strategy and policy analysis and provide legal advice.

"I feel fortunate to have someone of Gary's experience and quality helping direct my campaign," Bob Clement said. "Gary is a longtime Nashvillian who is committed to moving this city forward. He shares my vision for better local schools, reduced crime and stronger neighborhoods."

Blackburn received his bachelors in history from the University of Tennessee, and he earned his law degree from the Vanderbilt Law School in 1972.
