For those of you who are wondering who the best political prognosticators in the state are... add these three names to your list: Attorney Roger Abramson, investment banker Joseph C. Cook III, and lobbyist Mike Bivens.
Abramson, Cook, and Bivens were the closest in projecting (guessing) what percentages of the vote each candidate would win in the race for Tennessee's open U.S. Senate seat and the gubernatorial election held on Tuesday.
Unfortunately, there can only be one winner of the $100 gift card to use at the Midtown Café or Sunset Grill, courtesy of one Nashville's premier restaurateurs, Randy Rayburn.
And the winner is: Roger Abramson, director of legal compliance for Fontis Health Care Services.
Abramson, formerly a contributing political writer for our friends over at the Nashville Scene, spoke with NashvillePost.com this morning.
When asked how he came within just a few points of guessing what the numbers would be for Bob Corker, Harold Ford Jr., Phil Bredesen, and Jim Bryson, Abramson said: "Politics has been a hobby of mine for over twenty years. Other than that, I just got lucky."
Abramson then kept talking, asking us to promote his blog, www.flanktwoposition.com, and we said we'd think about it.
Thanks for all who played the game, and special congratulations go to Abramson, Bivens and Cook. If Abramson is sporting, he'll take those two guys to lunch with him.
