Evolved Digital trims 14 jobs in Brentwood

CEO says delay in private placement contributed to need for belt-tightening

10-27-2006 10:26 AM

Evolved Digital Solutions, an imaging systems developer with its U.S. headquarters in Brentwood, this morning announced that 14 employees will be leaving. The move reduces its local headcount from 54 to 40 workers.

CEO Bill Greer said the job cuts are focused on "administrative and support functions that do not affect customer service." He said that the company's previously announced effort to raise new equity through a private placement is "taking longer than we were anticipating," necessitating some cost-cutting within the operation.

Evolved was created in October 2003 when Brentwood-based Inphact merged with Electromed of Quebec. Its core mission is transforming hospital and clinic imaging departments from manual to digital systems.

Parent Evolved Digital Systems Inc. is based in Quebec, and the company is traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Nashville financier Dick Eskind is a major investor in the company.
