John Ouellette, formerly sole proprietor and general manager of MZS Entertainment LLC, was this week named an associate in the Music Row office of Adams and Reese LLP.

Ouellette, 37, told NashvillePost.com this afternoon some of his former songwriter publishing administration and music-clearance clients may follow him to Adams and Reese, but declined further comment. Before founding his own firm, he spent nine years with Brentwood-Benson Music Publishing in several roles, including director of business affairs and director of copyright administration.

Ouellette earned his J.D. from the Nashville School of Law earlier this year. In 1994, he earned his bachelor of music degree from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.

Two weeks ago, Adams and Reese announced that former EMI Records Vice President Joe Brazil joined the firm's Row-based staff. Much as with Brazil, Ouelette and Adams and Reese attorneys had collaborated on some client work during the past year, with Ouelette providing what he described this afternoon as contract administration and related support.
