Little Planet's computer-based employee training for Captain D's hailed

05-18-2004 7:02 AM — The computer-based employee training program developed for Captain D's Seafood by Nashville's Little Planet Learning has been recognized as best in class by the National Restaurant Association.

The Winning Workforce Award, presented by the trade group's educational foundation and by Coca-Cola, goes to organizations that seek to enhance employee satisfaction in order to achieve guest satisfaction. Captain's Compass, the 570-restaurant chain's training program, has greatly reduced employee turnover and facilitated cross-training at both company-owned and franchised stores since its August 2001 roll-out.

"Since Captain's Compass was launched, employee turnover is down, crew tenure is up, and customer satisfaction scores are at an all-time high," Captain D's said in a release. "In turn, that has led to two consecutive years of record sales for the company."

Little Planet created a computer-based training program that is delivered across Captain D's custom satellite system to in-store computers.
