Caremark’s Crawford nets $8.9 million in options transactions

11-08-2004 2:45 PM — Mac Crawford, chairman, president and chief executive of Caremark Rx (CMX), has netted more than $8.9 million on the exercise of 292,600 stock options and the subsequent sale of those shares, according to a Form 4 filed with the SEC Monday.

On Nov. 4, Crawford exercised options expiring in 2008 with an exercise price of $3.25 and sold the shares at prices of $33.75-$33.90. Monday’s filing lists another roughly 7.5 million options Crawford owns, including 1.25 million in a grantor retained annuity trust (GRAT).

Separately, analyst Steven Halper of Thomas Weisel upgraded Caremeark today from “peer perform” to “outperform.”

Shares of Caremark were up 14 cents to $34.29 in Monday afternoon trading. Their 52-week range $23.50-$35.31.
