Health care exec, Vandy risk manager added to American Retirement board

A founder of empactHealth.com has been named to the board of American Retirement Corp., as has a senior risk manager at Vanderbilt University.

09-25-2003 12:00 AM — A founder of empactHealth.com has been named to the board of American Retirement Corp. (ACR), as has a senior risk manager at Vanderbilt University.

Eddie Pearson, who left empactHealth.com's successor Medibuy and now is president and chief executive of online presentation company DigiScript, has taken a board seat whose term ends in 2005. He also is a director of Summit American Television.

Vanderbilt's John McCauley, executive director of risk and insurance management, fills a board seat whose term extends through 2006. He came to Vanderbilt in 1996 from Charter Medical Corp., where he had been senior executive director of risk management.

Longtime American Retirement director Clarence Edmonds has retired from the board.

American Retirement shares settled Wednesday at $3.20.
